A Different World

We are living in a world that is constantly changing, yet so many people refuse to adjust and are waiting for things to go back to “normal”.  I have a question to ask.  What is normal?  Are you waiting for the economy to shape up so that you can either get a job or get a better job or hoping that your commissioned sales job picks up to where it was two years ago?

So many americans are in a holding pattern waiting for something to happen.  This is the worst place you can be.  You either growing or dying or your either moving forward, backwards or no where at all.

Is that you? Are you just hoping good things are going to happen or are you making things happen.

You see, this is not the same world as it was five or even ten years ago, yet so many folks are waiting for things to return to the way they were.  While you sit and wait, others have moved to where the opportunity lies rather than waiting for the opportunity to knock on their front door. The so called “recession” has paralyzed folks.

Modern Day Slavery

I hate to break it to you, but working for large corporations is not where security is anymore.  Sure there are a few honest company’s out there that really care about their people, but lets be real. When companies need to cut expenses, they cut employees.  Employee = Liability.  When are people going to realize this?  Anytime someone else is signing you check, your at their mercy.  Your not at all in control. In fact your being controlled.

You are told when you have to show up to work, when you can take your lunch break, how long you can take lunch. You have to ask permission to take a vacation and is limited to what the company feels you should have every year.  Sounds crazy when you take a step back and think about it doesn’t it.

You would think that people would be up in arms about it, fighting tooth and nail for their freedom.  But, nope. For most it’s ho-dee-dum…. Two steps forward, two steps back and going absolutely no where.

So what is the solution to this slavery and mayhem?  Take control over your financial future and stop making excuses as to why you can’t succeed at whatever you put your mind to.  Stop blaming others for the position your in.  The good news is, if you got yourself into a jam you can surely get yourself out.

Take Charge

It’s called taking responsibility for your life.  While wall street and corporations fumble, there are hundreds of thousands who have turned to the internet to design their own ticket.  Sure you have to learn some new skills.  Of course your going to have to invest in some tools, training and systems.  Don’t people pay tens of thousands to universities across the world for an education and don’t blink an eye?

Why is it that people scoff at spending money on Internet education products? Lack of trust? Skepticism?

Let me give you a clue. THERE IS NO, NOR HAS THERE EVER BEEN A RECESSION ON THE INTERNET.  Wake up folks.  Sure it’s not for everyone, but neither is being financially independent.  Sure there are scam artists out there so be careful where you get your information from and where you invest your money.

Fear and Doubt Are Keeping You Broke.

But do me a favor, stop being so dam skeptical.  It’s keeping you broke and will keep your kids and their kids broke for generations to come if you don’t change the way you think and change the things you do.

Let’s be real with each other.  How many hours do you spend a week doing things that produce absolutely nothing, that you could take and turn into something? Most likely a lot.

Go Get It

You deserve a better life than where your at.  Your family deserves it. Go get it. Today is the day you promised yourself you were going to do the things you promised yourself you would do the day before. Stop procrastinating and start Producing. It’s time to recession proof your life and take it back from those who have borrowed it from you.

The Cheese Has Moved

I read a book a while back called “Who Moved My Cheese” by Dr. Spencer Johnson.  The book was about two mice, Hem and Haw.  They lived in a maze.  Like clockwork when they got hungry they made their familiar way through the puzzle to where their food (cheese) was.  The cheese was in the same place every day.

One Day the cheese moved.  Hem and Haw were dumbfounded and hungry.  They frantically went through their maze trying to find the cheese, but it was no where to be found.

I tell you this story because this is what has happened to many Americans today.  People got comfortable, way too comfortable.  The cheese in our society is technology.  While technology has changed, people have not adjusted to that change and has there for displaced many.

You see if you keep doing what you have always done, you will have what you have always had.  That is the definition of insanity. Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

Most have prepared themselves for the world that was instead of getting ready for the world that is to be.  I am sure you can relate to that.  There has been a sheet pulled over peoples eyes for years.  So you have been working your butt off at work for years and hoping that each year you would get a 3-5% increase in pay.  It’s called a cost of living increase.  The fact is that inflation and taxes have been much higher than that increase, therefor you get a decrease in pay every year and you dont even know it.  Well you should have figured that out when at the end of the year you have a pile of credit card debt that never goes away.

I had always been told never to put all of my eggs in one basket and to always have a second stream of income. That was the best advice I had ever gotten.  For most Americans though, they just worked their jobs, some feeling that they would never lose it.  Well, Shazam. Unemployment is at about 10% and in some states like California, its like 12%.

We live in a country where we are free to enterprise.  Free to make as much or as little as we want.  Folks have decided not to take risks and to live a simple comfortable life.  Anytime you get comfortable, your in for trouble. Growth never happens in your comfort zone.  You have to get uncomfortable to make your dreams come true.

The Solution. Always keep the cheese in sight and always have a back up plan in motion.
