    Generating leads in your network marketing business is crucial to your long term success in the industry or any industry for that matter.

    Over the years you probably have done some pretty crazy things to generate leads.  Most likely you have done everything from cold calling people in the phone book, leaving business cards in the self help books in the local bookstore, engaging in conversations with anyone with a heartbeat, attending every community social gathering, etc…etc…

    While some of those methods might have worked, I am sure it was always short term and you found yourself having to consistently do the work to keep the leads coming in.  Over the course of time, it gets cumbersome and something has got to give.

    It wasn’t until I learned how to leverage systems that allowed me to multiply my efforts, that I saw a huge change in my productivity as well as growth in business.

    Is Your Network Marketing Lead Generation Up To Par?

    There are many ways to generate leads in your network marketing business.  Some hold on to traditional techniques as this is what they are comfortable doing.  Is there anything wrong with it? Nope.  It all depends on what kind of momentum you want to have in your business and how fast you want to grow your organization.

    I have built my business both ways.  I used to spend every spare moment I had in what I call “contact mode”. I was always talking to people everywhere I went. I simply started conversations and looked to find out a few things about a person. I wanted to know if they were happy doing what they were doing for a living, if they were making all of the money they wanted and living the life they wanted.  I would guide them down a path in a conversation to find out what made them tick.

    Did I have success using these techniques?  I had some success, but could never create enough momentum, nor have others duplicate what I was doing to build my list of potential business partners.  I learned a lot about people during this portion of my life. Mostly, I realized that most folks were comfortable doing what they were doing, or, were afraid and skeptical about starting a new venture in which they were unfamiliar.

    The Four Most Dangerous Words In The English Dictionary.

    The four most dangerous words are, “I already know that!”

    My step-father used to call me Mr. Know-it-all as a kid growing up.  I hated it, however it was well deserved.  I thought I knew everything.  Can you imagine? 11 years old and I thought I had everything figured out.  Boy was I wrong.  The best part about it, was that my step-dad was a doctor.  Yep, he practiced psychology.

    Fast forward a bunch of years, now I am 37 and I know a little more than I did at age 11, however I realized that life is a constant education.  In relation to the amount of knowledge one can aquire throughout a lifetime, I know absolutely nothing in comparison.

    I have learned that I never tell anyone, “I already know that”, or anything like that phrase.  Why? It only shows ignorance.  If you already knew everything, there would be nothing left to learn.

    Lead Generation Systems are a dime a dozen on the Internet.

    If your like me, when I first got started in network marketing, I was fired up.  I was sure that within 6 months I would be a millionaire or close to it.  What made me think that? Well, I was smart, hardworking, could follow systems, etc..

    The Reality set in after the first couple of weeks.  I had exhausted the list of friends, family and everyone I had known through out my whole life. I had sponsored a few people in business, but was out of leads.  I realized I was going to have to get really good at talking to people about my business or so I thought.

    You see,  I was being trained and mentored by a guy that was extremely successful, but had built his huge organization back in the 1980’s and early 1990’s and had no clue about generating leads over the Internet.  All he knew was old school prospecting.

    “MLM Lead Generation”-A New Era

    If you are like I used to be, mlm Lead generation was a constant struggle for me. I was taught like most folks.

    Contact your friends and family, meet new people on a daily basis, join local networking groups, etc, etc. None of that worked and I am sure it’s not working so hot for you either, in fact I know it’s not.

    I Struggled for years hoping that one day the right people would join my group and my business would explode. Didn’t happen. You see, your upline means well, its just that they don’t know what they don’t know. The internet and Web 2.0 has changed the way people interact with each other.

    It’s become the social authority. Your wealthy upline used techniques that quite frankly don’t work anymore.
    It wasn’t until I started studying a few top Internet marketers, that I learned about attraction marketing. I learned that it wasn’t about how great my compensation program was, or the product. It was about me or You rather. People follow people, not product or money.

    I had to somehow establish myself as an online authority. And that is exactly what I have done. I branded me. Lead Generation in the MLM industry is simple, if you use a simple system.
