To become a successful online marketer you have to understand who your target market is. There are literally thousands of niche markets on the web for one to tap into with hungry buyers with cash in hand, waiting for your product or service to come across them.

You have to understand someones problem before providing them the solution (your product or service). Most Internet marketers when asked the question of  who their target market is, simply reply, “everyone”.  Wrong answer.

When you go to the doctor for a prescription to cure an ailment, he will prescribe exactly what you need to cure your problem. Same thing online. You need to do your research.

You also need to know why your looking to attract your specific market. What is the end goal?

Understanding Attraction Marketing

Someone who knows what they are doing online doesn’t blatantly pitch their product or service. They offer people valuable information and allow their audience to take it in. This will build trust.  This is the most common mistake people make. The Internet is filled with crap, 90% spam actually. So you have to seperate yourself from the masses.

Always keep in mind, it’s not about you, it’s about your target market and what they want. Attraction Marketing works in accordance with certain laws of reciprocity. You have to give freely to receive. Offer solutions to peoples problems and you will start attracting a following. People will see you as someone they can trust and follow by doing this.

Get a Website And Auto-Responder

You cant be taken seriously if you dont have a website. I am not talking about a company replicated site that looks just the same as everyone else in your business, those are a dime a dozen and they don’t ever rank in the search engines.

You need a blog of your own. A home base if you will. A place where you keep your most prized content and where people can come and really get to know you well. This will add credibility as well as offer a place where people can come to get information about a specific subject.

Next, having an auto-responder like AWeber or Get Response will allow you to develop a relationship with your subscribers.  So many people don’t understand that the money is in the list of people you have attracted and have opted into your offering for more information.  Give valuable stuff away for free to capture peoples information.  Then offer them even more valuable information in your emails.

Remember, be a solution provider.

The Traffic (SEO and Social Media)

Learn how the search engines and social media work.  These are the two prime sources of traffic on the web. Abuse them and you will never drive traffic. Understand them and you can drive hoards of traffic to your website and ultimately will turn into profits.

The biggest mistake I see people making is pitching their product or service on the front end. This is considered by most to be SPAM. You will be shunned and even black listed if this is your strategy.

Add Value And Make Peoples Lives Better

The Savvy marketer knows how to deliver the goods. He or she has done their homework, knows what their target market wants and gives it to them.  Those who solve the most problems wins.

If you really think about what marketing and sales is, it’s providing solutions that make life easier for the end user. Learn to master the art of giving freely.  Take your eyes off of yourself for a moment and decide that your going to help others.
