Indeed, there are some dirty little secrets on how to brand yourself online. Many people get online and try to market their product or service but have not done the back-end work to really become a successful entrepreneur online.

Personal Branding is essential to your success online. We are now in a big time information age and peoples lives are an open book. You have to be transparent. Anyone can find out anything on the web. Not that its all credible, but what people read, people believe and that is the bottom line.

The first step in branding yourself is owning your own domain for your name. Once you have that all set, you want to get a blog up and running. A blog is your main hub/home base. It is where people can go and find out about the real you. People want to know who people really are before they will do business with them.

You can spend all the money in the world on paid advertising in Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc, however, if you have not got your name out there in a positive fashion, you will not convert sales like you would if you were fully branded and own the first twenty pages of google for your name.

Branding yourself online is fun. Dont let it become another job. Understand that once you put content out there, its there forever and your grandchildren will have access to it eventually. Whether its Videos, Articles, Blog Posts, Tweets, etc…, these are all essential tools to build your authority online.

Always drive traffic to your blog and keep it updated at least 3 times a week. Stay active in Facebook, Twitter and other social networks you are a part of. Be the person that people want to follow and you will become the leader you were meant to be.
