Writers Block | What to do when writers block hits you like a ton of bricks.

What To Do To Help Writers Block

What To Do To Help Writers Block

I have to admit, writing is not something that comes naturally to me.  When I first started blogging, I had a lot of doubt and uncertainty as to whether people would like or dislike what I wrote. After some time I realized that it didn’t matter.  Some people would like what I had to say and others might not.

A valuable lesson was learned at that moment in time.  I could not go through life trying to please everyone!

When I first got started marketing online, I wrote a whole bunch. I wrote tons of articles and blasted them all over the Internet.  Every once in a while I would get stuck on what to write about next.

It was then that I also realized that if I was going to write, it was going to have to be something that I was passionate about.  I stopped writing for the search engines and I started writing to my audience.

Now, I don’t write unless I have something to say, a lesson to share or give some kind of value away to the world around me.  This took all of the pressure away.

There were times where I didn’t write for a few weeks and that was ok. I didn’t beat myself up over it. I understood that when the right time presented itself, I would write at that time.

Some of the things I do when I get the “dreaded writers block” is I start reading popular stuff on Digg or Stumbleupon.  This gets the wheels turning.  It also helps me identify what content is popular right now in the world and gives me ideas on what I want to write about next.

The bottom line is, everyone has something to share with the world around them.  People are on the other end of your computer on the World Wide Web waiting to read what you have to write.

There are times where I will be driving somewhere and a thought may pop into my head about something new to write about. I will jot the thought down and put it into a post at a later time.

When writing, think about what kinds of problems people are dealing with. Identify the problem, pour a little alcohol on it so that your audience feels the pain and then provide the solution.  That’s all marketing really is, isn’t it?

So rather than thinking of yourself at a writer, blogger or business owner, think of yourself as a solution provider.  When you put this into practice, you will create raving fans that will like you trust you and begin to know you.  Once you have these three things in play, people will buy from you.

Remember; always provide way more value than you expect to get monetarily in return.  When you tip this scale in your audiences favor, your life will never be the same.

Unless you were born yesterday, there are limitless things to write about.  Find out what you’re passionate about and expand on it.  Let the world know what you have to say.

    1. Right on Josh. I feel the same way and this is very true and a consideration when writing/blogging. Thanks for sharing this!
