Google SEO and PPC – Worth The While or Not?

    google-this

There Are More Effective Ways To Generate Traffic Than Trying To Please Google.

I have to admit that I spend a lot of time creating content. Not just any content, quality content.  I also have spent thousands upon thousands of dollars using Google PPC, Yahoo PPC and Bing to drive traffic to my websites.

Writing is a passion of mine, however PPC is not.  It has been a prime traffic source for me for the past year up until a few days ago.  Google has cracked down on the Network Marketing and Affiliate industry bigtime and if you haven’t gotten your account disabled by Google, it’s only a matter of time.

Waking up to an email saying your Google account has been disabled and an additional slap saying if I tried to open another account it too would be disabled was a big wake up call for me.  You see I am not the only one. I know folks that spend a million bucks a year on PPC with Google and have been disabled as well.

It was a wake up call for me and the rest of the industry.  A few bad apples have spoiled it for the rest of us. It caused me to think about my strategy as well as my loyalty to the Google machine.  In fact in made me quite angry for a second and then I thought, “It’s my own damn fault”.

I realized that I was putting all of my eggs in one basket. I have spent countless hours optimizing campaigns, building content, backlinks, SEO driven websites, etc.. And it’s all at the mercy of the Google Algorithms.

Then I thought to myself, what the hell am I doing. I realized I was working hard but not smart. I also realized that I was missing out on the easiest source of high quality traffic online and didn’t even know it.

Most marketers like myself spend weeks or months generating trickles of traffic to their Web site, the smart folks follow a few steps and within minutes generate a consistant flood of high-quality visitors, practically on demand.

No they weren’t using black-hat, crazy, unsustainable marketing systems. I am talking about the stuff that Fortune 500 company’s and 8 figure businesses on the internet are using to drive staggering amounts of traffic.

Generating a consistent stream of “Free” Traffic is both risky and time consuming.  Also, it’s not really “Free” Once you realize that you pay with either your money or time for every visitor to your site, you realize the power of sociability, volume and automation.

So What is the big secret? Why aren’t the Internet marketing “Big Dogs” teaching this?

Let us go back to the 1990′s.  Paid advertising got a bad rap that never quite went away.  At that time and point, there were only a few ways to purchase traffic to a website…

    • Big Banner ads were sold on placement, sponsorship or on a monthly basis and there was no relationship to effectiveness, user demographics or visitor counts.
    • Email services charged an astronomical amount of money for each email sent and resulted in Spam complaints.
    • PPC ads were through Overture, which is now Yahoo.  It was great but was limited on search volume.
    • Spammers and hackers could generate so much traffic they would crash servers. This was great until the FEDS crashed in and shut them down.

There were no tracking tools or any way to scale traffic up if you had a high converting offer.

Ok, now to the present.  In 2009 advertising is way different.  There are tons of ways to generate high quality traffic and that is why it has become a 50 Billion dollar industry.

Instead of hovering over your workstation like a modern day slave, you can just buy as much traffic as you need over and over again.

So what are these underused and under talked about traffic sources?

Buying paid advertising like banners, clicks, CPV ads, email blasts, and contextual links. It’s that simple.

Learning to used targeted banner and display ads to generate very responsive traffic for less than Google PPC is one way.  Simply buying massive traffic and tapping into a world of real million-dollar online marketing is where it is at today.

You can easily scale up and use optimization platforms that give you intelligence and create UBER responsive landing pages that generate clicks, leads and sales.

I know there are some of you out there reading this that are shaking their heads and saying no way.  I say yes way and that is the road I am going down and I suggest you follow suit or spend the rest of your life being a slave to Google.
