What Is Your Why In Life?

    Tuesday, February 9th, 2010

Have you recently stopped to think about why you do the things you do and why you are where you are in life?

    why

I think there are certain fundamentals that drive people to become who they were meant to be.  Some folks recognize these and others can go a whole lifetime and not get it.  Four areas I would like to touch on are passion, purpose, desire and fulfillment.

    Time, Money and Memories.

    Wednesday, January 27th, 2010

time and moneyIt was 1986, I was living in Maui Hawaii and it was my freshman year in highschool.  We lived on a house right on Maalaea Bay with our own private beach and I had the ocean at my disposal daily.  Being that Maalaea boasted some of the fastest and most hollow waves in the world, that is where I spent all of my time outside of school.

I had never felt more free in my life and felt as if time had stood still up until the end of that year.  My parents had told me that It was time to get a job. “A Job, I thought to myself?”, “My job is surfing”.

That was a big wake-up call for me.  Up until that point I felt as if I had all the time in the world.  Money had never been an issue because my parents had always bought everything I ever wanted.  But not anymore.  They cut off the funds per say and I had to work for everything I have wanted ever since.  That was a point in my life where I created some awesome memories that are still as vivid 20 plus years later as the day they were born.

Finishing Strong – Your Journey In Network Marketing.

    Friday, January 22nd, 2010

    Finishing Strong

    Finishing Strong

    Starting Strong/Finishing Weak

Back in high school I was a wrestler. Yes I had to wear a skimpy singlet and head gear and probably looked like a dork, but let me tell you, as far as training goes, there is no sport that tests your endurance more.  For some reason at every wrestling match about 3 minutes in, if I lasted that long, I would run out of gas.

I was a very strong starter. I came out on the mat in a match with blazing guns and would try to take my opponent out in the first minute or so.  I knew I had to as I knew I was known to run out of gas by the second round and would ultimately get pinned.  I was not a strong finisher.  Why? I think it was probably mindset more than anything. Back then, I knew little about how my own mind worked, but through previous experiences, I taught myself that I couldn’t go past that second round and if I was going to win, I had to do it quickly.

    The “5″ Principles of Success

    Sunday, November 29th, 2009

    success-jump

In my book, there are five principles of success that when combined, are a sure-fire way to make your dreams a reality…..

    Decide What You Want

For the most part I think people don’t have a very clear picture of what it is that they want out of life. For most, they get stuck in a corporate job going two steps forward and two steps back. After years of this, you get numb and end up just going through the motions, unless of course, your passionate about what you do.

Those who are passionate about their work know exactly what it is they are after. They have painted a clear picture of it in their head and know with out a shadow of a doubt that they will have it.

If I were to wake you up in the middle of a dead sleep and asked you what it is you want out of your life work, would you be able to immediately give me an answer?  Or would you have to think about it? This is how you know whether you have decided what you want.

The Fundamentals To A Successful Life.

    Wednesday, November 11th, 2009

spiritualHaving a well rounded life takes discipline, practice and patience.  I feel that there are three areas contribute to having a great life and if you follow these, your sure to prosper. The three are, financial, physical, spiritual soundness and emotional stability.

Most people will excel in one area, but are weak in others and vice-versa. It’s finding a common ground that will determine the quality and peace in your life.

    Financial Stability

Lets face it. Money does make the world go round.  It’s almost like water.  Without it you will die in one way or another. Well, without money, your not dead, but it’s very difficult to survive.

The 4 S’s of Life – Living a Life of Significance

    Thursday, October 29th, 2009

    significance

The Days of Martini Lunches, Sky’s Limit Expense Accounts and European Vacations Have Been Over For Some Time Now.  People all over the world are either Surviving, Stabalizing, Succeeding or living a life of Significance.

    Survival

We are living in a world of uncertainty. The unemployment rate is the highest it’s been since the Great Depression of the 1920’s and we haven’t seen the worst of it yet.  Home foreclosures are at an all time high and mark my word, you ain’t seen nothing yet, there is more to come.

When times like this hit, people go into survival mode, at least the smart ones do.  You see folks, you can blame the government, your company and everyone else for your misfortunes in life. Did you need that new car, new boat, big home? Or could you have lived within your means and not spent $1.20 for every $1.00 you made.

The Government is doing this with our tax money. Yep, that is the reality. Only now, people are like, “Holy Crap, I am in trouble”. Well duh. When you spend more than you make, yep, your in trouble. I call it survival mode because people are not living the life they want to. The Fact is, it’s there fault. Over consumption is eating our world from the inside out. In some countries, people are fighting for food and water.

    Discover The Magic Inside You.

    Saturday, October 10th, 2009

    magic

We were all created for greatness, however, somewhere along the way that greatness turned into mediocrity.

I don’t know about you but as a kid I was always told the word “no”. No you cant play because you have homework to do.  No you cant use knives, mow the lawn, use the car, etc.  Over the course of time, this has a profound long term affect on ones mind.

You see at an early age we are conditioned to think that we cant do much.  This is why 99% of the wealth in this great country is created by less than 1% of the population. Did you hear that?  It ought to make you mad.

How do you break out of this cycle? Well it comes down to the way you think.  You have to recondition your mind.  All of the negative in your head, all of the disbelief has to leave and turn into belief.  If you think you can, guess what? On the other hand, if you think you cant?  Well guess what? You cant.

The Four Most Dangerous Words In The English Dictionary.

    Monday, October 5th, 2009

    shark

The four most dangerous words are, “I already know that!”

My step-father used to call me Mr. Know-it-all as a kid growing up.  I hated it, however it was well deserved.  I thought I knew everything.  Can you imagine? 11 years old and I thought I had everything figured out.  Boy was I wrong.  The best part about it, was that my step-dad was a doctor.  Yep, he practiced psychology.

Fast forward a bunch of years, now I am 37 and I know a little more than I did at age 11, however I realized that life is a constant education.  In relation to the amount of knowledge one can aquire throughout a lifetime, I know absolutely nothing in comparison.

I have learned that I never tell anyone, “I already know that”, or anything like that phrase.  Why? It only shows ignorance.  If you already knew everything, there would be nothing left to learn.

Part Of Being A Success In Life Is Taking Care of Yourself.

    Friday, October 2nd, 2009
    The Road To Success

    The Road To Success

Part of Being a Success in life requires doing things that you don’t always feel like doing. The Alarm went off this morning at 5:15am like it does every day Monday Thru Friday. I was very warm in bed, my wife next to my side and the last thing I wanted to do was slip out of the covers put on my gym clothes and hit the cardio deck and the weight room.

Over the years I have gotten to know myself pretty well.  Over the previous years, procrastination had kept me from obtaining a lot of my goals, dreams and desires.  There were many days that the alarm went off and I either “snoozed it to death” or never made it to the gym.  I made excuses like, “I’ll just go tommorow and work out extra hard” or “I will make up for it over the weekend”.

You see, I was only cheating myself.  You know why? Because tomorrow is the day you were supposed to do the things you promised yourself your were going to do the day before. In other words tomorrow never comes.

    Who Moved My Cheese?

    Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009
    The Cheese Has Moved

    The Cheese Has Moved

I read a book a while back called “Who Moved My Cheese” by Dr. Spencer Johnson.  The book was about two mice, Hem and Haw.  They lived in a maze.  Like clockwork when they got hungry they made their familiar way through the puzzle to where their food (cheese) was.  The cheese was in the same place every day.

One Day the cheese moved.  Hem and Haw were dumbfounded and hungry.  They frantically went through their maze trying to find the cheese, but it was no where to be found.

I tell you this story because this is what has happened to many Americans today.  People got comfortable, way too comfortable.  The cheese in our society is technology.  While technology has changed, people have not adjusted to that change and has there for displaced many.
