Pushing Yourself To The Limit.

We live in one of the greatest nations in the world. The United States of America is a place in which you can live your life any which way you want.  One of the best freedoms we have is to have the ability to leave our mark on society; to leave a legacy in which the world will or will not know who you were throughout your life.

I think that one of the noblest things you can do with your life is to leave your mark on the world around you. Did you make this world a better place during your stay or were you just a taker and said the hell with the world.

For a lot of people in the workforce today, things are much different than they were ten years ago.  The days of two hour martini lunches, unlimited corporate expense accounts and lavish corporate parties have come to a standstill.  Companies demand much more from people for much less and it’s not getting any better.

Anytime you are working for someone else, and I hate to bring this to light, you’re NOT in control of your financial future.

Yep, that’s right. You’re not in control.  The person signing your paychecks determines your financial future as long as you’re in an employee/employer relationship.  Sure there are high commissioned positions out there in which you can be compensated on your production, however, the moment your year over year sales drop for any reason, you can be let go in an instant.

Getting Your Mind Right

Twice a week I work out with a personal trainer and this morning was legs day.  We don’t just do any old leg work out; this is ½ hour of gut wrenching, heavy, heart-pumping, leg bulging stuff that takes me to the outer limits every week.  There is no getting used to workouts as every week it’s different.

This morning on my second set of squats, my trainer Bobby loaded on 300 lbs to the rack.  This followed a set of 220 lbs.  I looked at him and said that’s too much this early in the game.  He looked at me and said, Josh….”Get your mind right.”

At that moment, something lit up inside of me. I knew that I had heard that before from a few past coaches of mine as well as in a few books.  Needless to say, I took a deep breath and plowed through the set with ease.

How Commited Are You?

Commitment – the act of binding yourself (intellectually or emotionally) to a course of action.

I was about 10 years old, living on the North shore of Maui in the Hawaiian Islands when I got my first surfboard.  Back then I was a little fella with no fear whatsoever.  My surfboard was about 9 feet (a long board) in those days’ standards.

I can remember it like it was yesterday. My friends’ older brother was taking us surfing at the world famous Hookipa State Park, which yields some of the biggest, nastiest winter waves in the world and also a world famous windsurfing and Kite Surfing spot.

Anyways, a storm has recently blown through and the waves were huge that day.  We got to the beach, I waxed up my board and for the first time in my life I paddled out into uncharted waters with waves 4 times my height.

In the midst of what is going on in our country, government trying to take over our so called “Democracy”, the dollar bill falling in value due to over inflation and the lack of belief in our system, there is a glimpse of hope in people’s lives.

What is all boils down to is folks are looking for leaders.  They are looking for someone to believe in that can take them by the hand and guide them down the path to financial peace.  Leaders are not born, they are made, however most people end up being a follower.

While many continue to go about their lives putting one step in front of the other and simply ignoring what is going on around them, there are others gearing up for the collapse of our economy.  When I say gearing up, I mean in the process of making fortunes.

You see, when we have recessions like the one we are in and are going to be in for sometime now, major shifts occur in our economy right under our noses.

For most people, their only source of what is going on in our economy is fed to them through CBS, NBC or one of the other one sided news networks.
