    Are You Being The Real You In Your Marketing?

    Being The Real You.

    I have to admit, when I first started marketing online I didn’t think people would take me seriously as I had not had any success in this industry thus far.  While I never lied about anything, looking back, I kind of put on a different personality in an attempt to attract my prospects to me.

    Boy was I wrong.

    It took about six months to realize that there are people out there that are going to relate to me and then there are those that won’t.  It wasn’t until I just started being “Josh Boxer” that I started seeing the results I was looking for in business.

    Here was the litmus test at work. When I would call my leads that opted into my sales funnel, they would say things like, “I have been watching your stuff for some time now and you seem different than everyone else out there.”, or “I have seen other people in your business and didn’t connect with them, but when I watched your video, you seemed very genuine.”

    It was at that point that I realized that I didn’t have to be like anyone else.  This was a revelation to me as I then realized that I could just be me and I would attract the like kind.

    When you take all of the pressure off of yourself and realize that there are over 1.5 billion people on the internet with millions looking for someone who can take them to the promised land, Internet marketing becomes really fun.

    It’s when you’re worried about what other people think and are putting up a total front, that you will repel people rather than attract them.

    Let me tell you that there is no better feeling knowing that your being chased instead of you doing the chasing.  That all comes down to how you position and brand yourself.

    Telling your story in your marketing is essential to being able to connect with people in your marketing and social avenues online.  People are interested in people that they connect with and when people read your story and say, “That sounds just like me!”, you now have a connection with that person and they are more apt to want to do business with you.

    Always remember, people do business with people they know, like and trust.  When they feel like they know you because you have let them inside of your life through your story, you are 1/3rd of the way there.  Next, build trust by giving yourself away.  Don’t hold back anything. Give away your best stuff for free and people will come back for more.

    As far as people liking you… Well, that’s out of your hands. Be genuine and likable.

      Love the post, Josh. I was in the exact same position when I started too. I have to agree, many people aren’t themselves and will end up costing themselves an abundance of opportunities to connect with others.

      I also agree with: “give away your best stuff for free” Like I say “Give away the farm to receive your palace”
