When you think of the word “turnkey”, what do you think of? McDonalds, Burger King, Moe’s Southwest Grill? Turn key businesses have been around for decades and have become a part of our society. The reason they are popular is that you don’t have to come up with a concept and you are starting with a proven business model that works. It has been tested, people have made profit and it’s a great way to create income.
The challenge is, with a traditional brick and mortar business model, location tends to be the biggest challenge and the biggest risk. Get your location wrong and you are in trouble. I can’t tell you how many people I have known over the years that invested hundreds of thousands of dollars into business and got the location thing wrong.
The greatest thing about having the ability to own a turnkey internet business is you don’t have to worry about the location of your store. You have no light bill, maintenance bill or electric bill. You may have an employee or two, but you don’t have to worry about dealing with payroll companies, suppliers, people not showing up to work, etc.
More and more people are flocking to the web as an alternative. People are tired of being downsized and outsourced in corporate america.
I have to warn you though. In your search for a home business online, you must be weary of the amount of total scam artists out there who’s only mission is to suck your bank account dry with no intention of putting you in a position to prosper.
You want to always and I mean always do your due diligence when considering a home business online. Take a look at how frequent you see the business coming up over the web and at how long it has been around. If a company has been around for more than two years, that is a pretty good indication that they are stable and people are making money.
Next, be prepared to invest in an internet business. I talk to a lot of people and for some reason there is this misconception that you are able to create massive amounts of money with very little capital and budget. WRONG!
It’s like any other business. You are going to have to invest in tools, your system, marketing and advertising, etc.
If you are at all savvy about what is going on in the world, there has been a huge paradigm shift. With Corporations not offering retirement and pension programs and running very lean, there is no such thing as being loyal to companies anymore. Companies have not been loyal to their employees and have made their decisions based on what is best for their shareholders, and somewhat ignoring their internal customers, the employee.
I think it’s a shame, however, it should also be a wakeup call.
People don’t realize that they can get into a turnkey Internet business for a fraction of what it would cost to open a traditional brick and mortar store.
Rather than banging your head against the wall, take a step of faith outside your comfort zone and try something new.
