How To Deal With Curious vs. Serious People In Home Business

Anyone who has been involved in the home business arena for any length of time has run into two types of characters in their journey.  There are the “Curious” and the “Serious” people.

Curious People

These people will burn your time if you let them.  They are slow to make decisions and very quick to change the decisions they have made.  They don’t really know what they want out of life and have no clear direction.  They dabble in this and dabble in that but never seem to get any traction in life.

A curious person will ask you all kinds of questions.  How much does is it going to cost me?  How much time will I have to put in?  What exactly will I be doing?  To some, these are valid questions that deserve answers.  To others, these are sure indicators that your dealing with a tire-kicker.  The questions they should be asking are: What is the initial investment and how much ongoing capital do I need at hand?  How much time to I get to put in?  When can I get started?

Serious People

Someone who is serious about making changes in their life are very quick to make decisions and very slow to change them.  They are positive, upwardly mobile people who know what they want out of life and are willing to put everything on the line to make it happen. Serious people ask the right kinds of questions and know that action + attitude gets results.

I love dealing with people who are serious as they need very little help.  They are self starters, value your time and always have something positive to say when you speak with them.  They are a blessing to the world around them.

In conclusion, I identify curious people very quickly and have them make decisions or get out of my way.  I am not rude with them, just firm as I don’t have time to waste.  When I run across someone who is serious about making changes in their life, I will match their commitment level.  As long as they are willing to learn and duplicate, these are the people that will get my time.
