Making Today Count

Making Today Count………..

I used to just randomly go through days and the days turned into weeks and the weeks to months and so on…. Just putting one foot after the other, enduring life.

I woke up one day saying to myself, “That’s no way to live.”  I made the decision to change and to make today count for something.  You see when you dont make your days count, they count for nothing and I didnt want to be the guy that counted for nothing.

Today, I live on a schedule.  I have a plan of attack on a daily basis.  I plan my work and work my plan.  This is what all successful people do.  Failing to have a plan is like trying to build a tower without a blueprint.

I enjoy feeling fullfilled each and every day because I know that I moved one step closer to my dreams and one step closer to my goals.

OK, So Today is the last day I will be 36

My how the years click by.  It amazes me that the older I get, the quicker time moves.  I am always thinking-STOP!!!!

However, with another year past, there is another year of victorious living.  You see, tommorow I will be 37, but the kid in me remains like 19, always.  I personally dont know how people grow old.

Let me take that back, I do..People grow old because they chose to remain stagnant.  They chose to remain in place.  Folks, if your not growing, let me give you a *TIP*….Your Dying…

Studies have shown that a body in motion, stays in motion.  I have always made it a point to keep in as tip top shape as possible.  Of course I dont have the same body I did when I was 19, but I work on it = ).

So tonight I celebrate another victory of a year ALIVE. And I look forward to the next year and the year after that because I am truley alive and LIVING MY DREAM LIFE……………………………………………………..HOW ABOUT YOU???

Break Down or Break Through- How do you deal with life?

How do you deal with adversity when it hits?  Does it paralyze you or does it magically propel you to overcome?

I had every reason in the world to put my head under a pillow and cry this past Monday.  I woke up, ready to go to the gym at 4am. Sleepy eyed, I got my gym clothes on that I had placed out the night before.

I closed the front door behind me with car key in hand and to my surprise, no car.  You got it, the car was gone, vanished, stolen in the middle of the night.  A little ball in my throat dropped to the pit of my stomach for one brief second and I caught it.  I caught myself.

Burn the Ships

Spanish Conquistador Hernando Cortez landed in Mexico back in the early 1500′s and faced much adversity.  He had 10 ships with over a thousand men.  When they landed, they were up against an army nearly 4 times their numbers.  To ensure their victory, Hernando Cortez ordered his men to burn the ships.

You see, he knew that humans had an inate way of going back to what is comfortable.   Hernando and his men went on to be victorious.  This was so because he took away any method of retreat so the only way for him and his men to move was forward.

In life, I think it is a valuable lesson to sometimes have to “Burn the ships” to get to where we want to be in life.  You have to be willing to overcome circumstances and barrel through adversity.  Most are not willing to do this which is why many fail in life.

I am just going to let it all out here and share with you what I have discovered over the years about You Inc.

After spending about 10 years in the corporate world, I realized that I was not the asset I thought I was to the company that I worked for.  I was infact a liability.

Once I understood that expenses were liabilities, and that because someone else was signing my paycheck that my livelyhood was dependant upon some pretty unstable ground.

When companys look to lower their expenses and increase their cashflow, they cut expenses and being that payroll usually accounts for the majority of a companies expense (liability), thats were they cut.

It was an Extremely exciting time of my life, I had just went through 5 years of college, fraternity life, keg parties and really quite a wild life I had lived.  I had learned the Golden Rule here.

Reality set in when I left that college campus after it being my playground for half a decade.  I had to take that hotel/restaurant ,management degree and put it to work.

Being that I had started working in the restaurant industry at like 14 years old, I knew I had a strength in serving people.  It wasnt until my first Hotel job that I realized that all people did not want to be treated like I did.

How Your Marketing Funnel Should work..

Your Marketing Funnel should be so good and refined that when people finally get to you, they should be like “Wholy crap, I cant believe I am talking to this guy/girl and they think you are a Rockstar!!!!!

Most people think that if they can just drive enough traffic to their landing page that victory is theirs, WRONG!!! Who ever told you that?  I know there is all kinds of hype that your going to be making a million bucks like tomorrow.  I know you think that its all just going to magically land in your lap, WRONG AGAIN!!!

• Your Marketing Funnel will depict how people will view you, get to you, etc.. You control the people that enter it. But you can totally F**K it up if you dont know what your doing.
• Most people, as soon as someone enters their funnel and they get that LEAD ALERT, they call their new prospect.WRONG MOVE PAL.. You just lost all credibility and now your a needy fool and dont deserve to serve that person because its all about you. STOP BEING SO NEEDY, PEOPLE READ RIGHT THRU IT!!

I want my prospects calling me because they are drooling.  Because they are looking for a leader and they have found one.
